PDF version Altar Server is a ministry for childrin from 5th grade and up who assist celebrant (deacons, priests, etc.) at all litugucal events: Masses, benedictions, processions, weddings and funerals.
Servers are assigned two to four Masses per month. Training is provided.
Basic protocol
1. Please dress properly: No shorts (doesn’t look good on boys), nice (tied) shoes with socks, NO gum
2. Girls tie your hair back and keep make up and jewelry simple and not distracting!
3. No talking or chit chatting. If training, you may only QUIETLY whisper advice only as needed. Be discrete. You can be seen.
4. Keep hands together when not holding something , thumbs crossed . Pay attention to the Priest and the Altar. Bow when crossing in front of the Altar. Remember if you are acting inappropriately, you become a distraction to others. Parishioners do comment!
5. Follow along with the Mass, sing, pray and respond. Remember the video that Fr. Robert made. Be proud to be a server!!
6. Use the restroom BEFORE Mass
ABOVE ALL pay attention to the presider!!

Dear Servers,
There are some changes due to some drop outs and several changes in Mass time requests. As time goes on and people get more settled in their schedules, there will be fewer changes. If you were removed, it is because you
were not showing up (or signing in). If you wish to be re-added just contact me. Also remember that you can
jump in any time you see a need to.
